Victoria is such a lovely city break
The Inner Harbour is just gorgeous - boats, street performers, and the Parliament buildings all lit up. Easy to walk everywhere and people are super friendly. Great spot for a relaxed city trip.
Whale watching here is next level
Went out on a zodiac tour from the Inner Harbour and saw orcas up close - absolutely wild. The guides really know their stuff. Victoria itself is clean, pretty, and easy to get around. Highly recommend the whole experience.
Perfect little getaway from the mainland
Took the BC Ferries over and it was already part of the fun. Fisherman's Wharf is quirky and worth a wander - colourful float homes and fresh fish tacos right on the water. The whole city feels relaxed but there's always something to do.
Gardens, history and good coffee - what more do you need
Butchart Gardens is seriously impressive even in the cooler months. The city has loads of independent cafes and the coffee culture is strong. Feels a bit like a smaller, quieter version of an English town. Really enjoyed the pace of it.
A great city for just wandering around
Government Street has brilliant little shops, bakeries and local spots. Nothing feels too touristy or overpriced. The architecture is beautiful and it's all very walkable. We loved trying the Nanaimo bars - so rich and sweet!
Did not expect to enjoy this so much
Victoria has a really distinctive character. The Royal BC Museum is worth at least half a day - fascinating stuff about Indigenous history and the natural world. Streets are clean, locals are warm, and the seafood chowder at the harbour is excellent.
